FATHER AND SON ARRESTED FOR IDABEL BANK ROBBERY
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—James E. Finch, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Oklahoma, announced the arrests of Jesse Nanez, 55, and his son, Matthew Nanez, 24, both of Idabel.
Today at approximately 11:30 a.m., the McCurtain County National Bank in Idabel was robbed by an unidentified individual. He was seen leaving in a white van with the license plate covered with something.
A few minutes after the robbery, two Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) Special Agents in Idabel heard the report of the robbery and observed a white van with something covering the license plate. They observed the van at a convenience store on the west side of Idabel.
Jesse Nanez was arrested without incident by the OSBI Special Agents outside the van, and Matthew Nanez, his son, was arrested while inside the van. The money believed taken in the robbery was recovered.
Jesse Nanez is a suspect in the March 6, 2009 robbery of First National Bank in Idabel.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI, OSBI and Idabel Police Department.
