OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA – Michael B. Ward, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Oklahoma, announced the FBI is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Jan Michel Phillips, 25, related to several recent bank robberies in Oklahoma City.    

     At approximately 4:55 p.m. on May 7, a white male entered Chase Bank, 3724 N. May, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and pointed a gun at the teller.  He provided a threatening demand note to the teller and ordered everyone on the ground.  He fled the bank in a stolen vehicle and was last seen leaving in a silver colored truck.

The investigation has determined the robber to be Jan Michael Phillips.  On May 20, 2007, Phillips was charged in the Western District of Oklahoma for violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2113, Federal Bank Robbery.  An arrest warrant was issued.

Phillips is believed responsible for the February 6 robbery

of Bank of the West, 5603 N. Penn, the March 6 robbery of Bank of the West, 5757 NW Expressway, the April 10 robbery of Bank of the West, 5401 NW 23rd St., and the May 7 robbery of Chase Bank.

Phillips is considered armed and extremely dangerous.  He has been convicted of assault and battery on a police officer, carrying a firearm following a felony conviction, and used a weapon in several of the robberies. 

Jan Michel Phillips is described as a white male, 25 years-old, 5’8”, and 155 lbs.  He was last seen driving a silver 2004 Chevrolet Colorado pickup with Oklahoma license tag 547-XSZ.  He has also used alias names including Daven Michael Fitzpatrick.  

The investigation is being conducted by the FBI and Oklahoma City Police Department.

The Oklahoma Banker's Association offers up to $2,000.00 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of anyone robbing a member bank.  The FBI is offering a reward of up to $3000 for information leading to the arrest of Jan Michel Phillips.
