OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA – Michael B. Ward, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Oklahoma, announced the arrest of Shannon Phillip Tankersley, 40, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, a bus driver for Union Public Schools.
This month, the Broken Arrow Police Department was contacted by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Georgetown, Texas, regarding graphic images of a minor sent from Texas to Broken Arrow. The Broken Arrow Police Department referred the case to the Innocent Images Task Force of which they are a member.
Yesterday at approximately 1:50 p.m., Tankersley was arrested without incident by members of the Northeastern Oklahoma Innocent Images Task Force. He was charged today per a Criminal Complaint filed in the Northern District of Oklahoma for knowingly possessing or attempting to possess visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct, a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2256(2)(A)(i-v).
The Northeastern Oklahoma Innocent Images Task Force is comprised of investigators from the Broken Arrow Police Department, Tulsa Police Department, Bixby Police Department, and the FBI. The task force was established in 2001 to combat online child pornography and the online sexual exploitation of minors.
