OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA – Michael B. Ward, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Oklahoma, announced the arrest of Freeman David Chenowith, Jr., 50, of Terlton, Oklahoma, related to an alleged extortion.
Yesterday afternoon at approximately 3:30 p.m., Chenowith was arrested without incident by members of the FBI’s SWAT Team and Tulsa County Sheriff’s Deputies. He was arrested approximately three miles south of the intersection of Highways 48 and 412 in rural Terlton.
Chenowith faces Federal Hobbs Act/Extortion charges. The investigation was conducted by the FBI, Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Postal Inspection Service.
