FORT SUPPLY MAN INDICTED FOR ROBBING WOODWARD BANK WITH KNIFE

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—John C. Richter, United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma, announced today that KENNETH LEON HATCHETT, 51, of Fort Supply, Oklahoma, has been indicted for a February 25, 2009, bank robbery of The Central National Back of Alva, located at 722 Main Street, in Woodward, Oklahoma, and for using a 13-inch knife to assault a bank employee during the robbery. Hatchett is currently in custody at the Grady County Jail.

If convicted, Hatchett faces up to 25 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine. The public is reminded that the indictment is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Reference is made to the indictment for further information.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Andre’ B. Caldwell.
